Claiming EU Compensation from Qatar Airways

I have just got back from London, UK with Qatar Airways and unfortunately there were a huge delays due to aircraft problems.

I have wrote an email to Qatar Airways (tell-us@qatarairways.com.qa) to file a complaint and demand EC 261 compensations.

My email was follow:
To Whom It May Concern:

I am currently stuck in Doha Airport due to "Operation Problem" and my flight is delayed from 8:30am to 13:00pm.

My ticket was issued from London to Kuala Lumpur with a Stopover in Doha. In October 2017, a EU Court of Appeal confirmed the UK CAA's interpretation that the final destination must be included in the total delay. This means that, if the passenger misses a connection outside the EU and ends up with a delay longer than the times indicated above, even if the delay on the flight leaving EU was inferior to the aforementioned times, the total delay will be used and not only the delay on leaving the EU.

Therefore I am demanding to claim the EU compensation for the flight delayed.

Thank you so much and I hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards,

And I have received email as follow:

Dear Mr.

Thank you for your email.

We refer to the delay of QR852 of 12th February 2019 which was scheduled to operate from Doha to Kuala Lumpur.

We are sorry for the inconvenience that you may have encountered and can fully appreciate how unsettling this situation must have been for you. Although every effort is made to achieve on time departures, there are occasions when flights are delayed / cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control as it unfortunately happened with QR852.

In light of this, we would like to offer you EUR300/- as compensation in accordance with EC261 Regulation. Please provide your bank details and copy of passport for us to process payment.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused on this occasion.

Thank you for writing to us.

Yours sincerely,

And then I have emailed them the following items:

Below bank details are required along with a copy of your passport.

Bank Name                  :
Account number           :
IBAN/ BIC (Swift)         :
Account holder name    :
Bank Address                :
Sort Code                     -

After that I received the EU compensation after two weeks time.

The following picture is how much you entitled to if your flight is delayed:

The EU compensation however cannot be claimed if it was due to uncontrolled circumstances like weather problem or the drone incident in Getwick

  2. A little known way of obtaining cheap flights is by signing on as an air courier with a courier company. The courier company purchases the ticket from the airline and sells it to the courier for a really cheap price in return for their work. thy uçak bileti
