The Sandisk Extreme Portable SSD
It is advertised that high-speed storage for high res photos and videos (up to 550Mb/s transfer speed). You can store, edit and curate large photo, video libraries at blazing fast speeds.
The hard disk is rugged IP55 water and dust resistant design, which you can bring the hard disk anywhere and not to worry.
It is also shock and vibration resistant solid state core withstands up to a 2-meter drop.
I bought the WD My Passport SSD 1TB at price RM1699 (GBP322) and this SanDisk Exteme Portable SSD 2TB at price RM1999 (GBP 379), which was slightly more expensive. I will do a review on speed of both products.
The back of the box
The box contained the SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD hard disk, a Guide and a cable with both Type C and USB 3.1
The back of the SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD 2TB
Comparison of the SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD 2TB and WD My Passport SSD 1TB. I like the quality of the SanDisk more than the WD. The WD My Passport SSD 1TB seems very cheaply plastic made.
I have run both SSD Hard disk with a software to compare their speeds. Both were tested with stress of 5GB.
The Speed test of SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD 2TB. As seen from the result above, it can be written at 489.1MB/s and read at 521 MB/s. Which is slightly less than what it had advertised. The results seems a lot better than the WD My Passport SSD 1TB's result below.
The WD My Passport SSD 1TB can only write at 283.9Mb/s and read at 435.3 MB/s. It seems the hard disk can't handle the heavy load format file.
Bottom Line:
The SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD is more worth the price as it is kind of water, dusk and shock proof. I am impressed with the speed result. I think if you need a new hard disk you should get the SanDisk one.
