The entrance to Sushi Ori
Ori San was preparing sushi for other customers
We have ordered the Special Omakase at price RM780++ from the dinner menu. The special omakase set is required to order 10 days in advance.
After we have settled down and order our drinks, Ori san was kind enough to show us the special ingredients for the night.
Abalone on the left, Hokkaido Lobster at the centre and Hokkaido Hairy Crab on the right.
Appetiser 1: The special fishes from Japan with autumn leaves. I can't recall the name of the dishes but the one with the sesame sauce was amazing.
Appetiser 2: Hanera fish at the front and sea bass at the back. The fishes were so fresh and it was so so so good.
Appetiser 3: Amberjack at the back and Sea Beam. Ori San told us that the Amberjack here is different from the one we usually have. This Amberjack is a lot bigger. The Japanese name is Hamachi.
Appetiser 4: Steamed Lobster with wasabi on top
Appetiser 5: Fresh Salmon Roe. The taste was really fresh and it was totally different from we normally had.
Closer look of the fresh salmon roe.
Sushi 1: The Purple Sea Urchin Sushi with the cheeky Ori San
Appetiser 6: Hokkaido Hairy Crab meat with the crab roe
Sushi 2: Clams sushi
Appetiser 7: Steamed Abalone
Appetiser 8: steamed Monkfish Liver
A closer look at the steamed Monkfish liver
Appetiser 9 and Sushi 3: Marinated Blue Fin Tuna and Otoro (Fatty Blue Fin Tuna). The Otoro was literally melt in my mouth. It was so good.
Sushi 4: Red Snapper fish
Appetiser 10: Miso soup with the lobster head
Sushi 5: Sweet Prawn with Purple Sea Urchin on top
Sushi 6: Aburi Engawa, it was so fatty and another amazing fish that will melt in mouth
Last dishes: The famous cholesterol bowl, chopped tuna, uni, sweet prawns and fresh Ikura
I have added on sushi: Kawahagi fish and the liver of the fish
Another clam Akagai (Red Clam)
Dessert: Sweet Tamago
Dessert: Melons, Muachi and sweet potato swirls on top
Conclusion:
Ori San's new restaurant wasn't disappointed at all. I feel Ori San has upgraded his Omakase set from Oribe. The ingredients were absolutely fresh and the bite was perfection. I will definitely be their regular.
